Guiseley On The Net is proud to help support the campaign by the Wharfe Valley Times to raise £30,000 for Matthew Downs - the six year old boy diagnosed with a rare muscle wasting disease.


Matthew, of Burley-in-Wharfedale, suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an heriditary disease that will slowly affect the muscles controlling his breathing and heartbeat.
The symptons will eventually make everyday activities difficult for the little schoolboy to deal with and he will probably be in wheelchair by the age of ten. Matthew's future relies on support from his family who believe transport adapted to accommodate a wheelchair will allow him the best chance of leading a normal life.
