The Station Hotel was taken over a couple of months ago by new manager Tony McCaul. Tony's main ambition for The Station
Hotel is to build the pub a sterling reputation as a live music venue.
The idea of Guiseley music festival was born after hours one night in the middle of June. After a discussion between Tony and Simon Stokes (one of his bar staff) about a TREKSTOCK a charity event that Sophie Epstone (one of Simon's friends) was organising in London. At the time it was just laughed off as another one of Tony's hair brained ideas but it certainly planted a seed in both their minds. The next morning over a cup of tea and countless cigarettes (the smoking ban was not yet in force) the pair of them sat looking out of the window staring at the car park wondering. What if? Neither Tony nor Simon have ever organised such an event before so they decided the best place to start was by finding some bands. Bands who where talented and not attending Leeds festival which is over the same weekend. After a couple of weeks scouring the music venues of Leeds, going to countless battle of the bands competitions and more than a few pints of
cider they came up with a 10 band line up. The aim of Guiseley Music Festival is to raise at least £2000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and start a year round campaign to raise as much money as possible for the charity. All monies raised at Guiseley Music Festival. Simon and Tony intend to take down to London the following weekend and present it to Sophie at TREKSTOCK.
